S.R. 789 (Gulf Drive) From Longboat Key Pass Bridge to South of Cortez Road
The contractor has completed resurfacing the roadway on S.R. 789 (Gulf Drive) from Longboat Key Pass Bridge to south of Cortez Road. The final striping of the roadway will occur during the month of September 2010. Weather permitting, the project is anticipated for completion in the fall of 2010.
S.R. 789 (Gulf Drive) From South of Cortez Road to S.R. 64
The contractor has completed resurfacing the roadway on S.R. 789 (Gulf Drive) from south of Cortez Road to S.R. 64. The final striping of the roadway will occur during the month of September 2010. Weather permitting, the project is anticipated for completion in the fall of 2010.
S.R. 789 (Gulf of Mexico Drive) From Longboat Key Club to Harborside Drive
Construction activities will include the removal of old asphalt (milling) and the resurfacing of the roadway with new asphalt, installation of new sidewalks and bus pads, installation of curbs and gutters, the improvement of the roadway shoulders, installation of new signs and pavement markings, and the installation of improved traffic signals. Construction activities will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Paving and nighttime work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. At the intersection of Longboat Club Road and Gulf of Mexico Drive, paving operations will take place Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
In the fall of 2010, the Florida Department of Transportation will begin removing old asphalt (milling) and resurfacing the roadway as part of the ongoing construction project on State Road 789 (Gulf of Mexico Drive) from the Longboat Key Club to Harborside Drive in Sarasota County. There will be temporary lane closures and nighttime work between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Weather permitting, this project is anticipated for completion in February 2011.

Construction activities will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Paving and nighttime work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. At the intersections of Bay Isles Parkway and the Longboat Key Fire Department located at 2162 Gulf of Mexico Drive, paving operations will take place Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
